STANTON, Texas (KOSA) - Today, we take you to Martin County, where the 11th Annual Bustin for Badges 3-day fundraiser is in full swing. Held at Windwalker Farms in Stanton, this year’s event has already seen an impressive turnout. It has now completely sold out, expecting to double in size from today by Friday.

The Bustin for Badges event, now in its 14th year, has grown from humble beginnings. Initially uncertain about its success, organizers now boast a fully sold-out clay shoot fundraiser. Here’s Jimmy Young, Executive Vice President of Bustin for Badges, on the event’s growth:

From busting criminals to busting clays, law enforcement officers trade their typical attire for a more relaxed one at this unique event. Events like this offer an opportunity for the community to perceive law enforcement from a different perspective.

The event brings together law enforcement agencies from across two towns for a common goal: to raise funds for local law enforcement. Proceeds from Bustin for Badges benefit Odessa PD, Midland PD, and both Ector and Midland Sheriff Offices.

Funds raised from the event contribute to various law enforcement initiatives such as the canine program, drone program, bomb squad, and training. This support alleviates the burden on taxpayer funds, benefiting both law enforcement agencies and the community.

Meredith Bright, Director of Brand Development at Kent Companies, highlights the unique collaborative effort from a long-time supportive vendor’s perspective.

Though shooting slots are filled, organizers encourage members of the public to show support and participate in the event’s festivities.
