The Star-Spangled Salute is a celebration of community and patriotism. Each Fourth of July, the community of Midland can enjoy food vendors and FREE activities from morning to night. The day begins with the Children’s Parade. Evening activities include the popular family-fun zone, a beer garden for adults, and a family-friendly variety concert in the park. The evening culminates in the grand finale – patrons watch as the sky lights up with the largest fireworks display in West Texas. We anticipate an attendance of about 45,000 patrons at this year’s Independence Day festivities.
An event of this magnitude can only be successful with the help of many volunteers. We are seeking your help to make this event a success. Volunteers are needed at a variety of times, with most being needed from 6–11 p.m. on the 4th. Volunteers have the opportunity to experience the following return on their investment by volunteering:
- Exposure and recognition for your business (volunteers are encouraged to wear company ball-caps)
- A unique opportunity to become connected with the community
- Strengthen employee relationships working side-by-side
- Feel the patriotism and be a part of the largest single-day event held in Midland, Texas
